To save time and money, is it OK to ask the judge who grants your divorce to immediate preside over a wedding?

I don't think the divorce is final until it's been recorded. That usually doesn't happen immediately, but you could always ask. Maybe in some states it would work. I don't know if this has ever been tried and I doubt I ever thought about it before. I'd be surprised if no one ever tried this, though. I knew someone who was a lawyer and a judge, so he helped people get divorces and also married them.
