Compact fridge manual defrost push on problem!?

So I currently have a Danby compact fridge DCR34BL and it has a push on manual defrost. i think i accidentally pressed the defrost on and the only way to have it pop out is to go through the whole defrost process!! the manual provides a shortcut: to apply hot dishcloth onto the capillary line. i did that and the defrost on refuses to pop out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyone can help me? please????? im desperate!
